Privacy Policy

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:

• Account information: Your name and email address, obtained via Google Sign-In when you create an account.
• Financial data: Expense entries, income records, account names, balances, and categories that you manually enter into the app.
• Journal entries: Daily notes and text you write in the day journal feature. These are stored in your Firestore account and are never shared with third parties except as described in the Lekhan AI section below.
• Preferences & settings: Display preferences, font choices, custom categories, currency settings, and onboarding choices you configure.
• Subscription status: Whether you have an active Lekhan+ subscription (managed via Apple App Store or Google Play).
• Crash & diagnostic data: Anonymous crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. This data does not include your financial entries.

• To authenticate you and sync your data across your devices.
• To store and display the financial entries and journal notes you create.
• To process and verify your subscription status.
• To diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
• To power the Lekhan AI assistant — a summary of your financial data (account balances, category totals, income/expense trends) is sent to OpenAI when you use this feature. See §4 for details.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your financial entries for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). Access is protected by Firebase Security Rules — only your authenticated account can read or write your data.

Subscription transactions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see or store your payment card details.

Lekhan includes an AI-powered assistant ("Lekhan AI") that can answer questions about your finances. When you use this feature, a financial summary is sent to OpenAI's servers. This summary includes:

• Account names and current balances
• Aggregate income, expense, and investment totals (current and previous month)
• Spending by category
• A computed financial health score

Individual transaction descriptions and journal text are not sent to OpenAI. Only the aggregated summary above is transmitted. OpenAI processes this data solely to generate a response; it is not used to train OpenAI's models (we use the API under OpenAI's data usage policy for API users). Lekhan AI is an opt-in feature. If you do not open the AI assistant, no financial data is ever sent to OpenAI.

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google Sign-In — policies.google.com/privacy
• OpenAI (Lekhan AI feature) — openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
• RevenueCat (subscription management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store (payment processing)

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Settings → Delete Account), all your Firestore data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days by Firebase.

Lekhan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

You have the right to:

• Access the data stored in your account (it is all visible within the app).
• Export or delete your data by contacting us.
• Revoke Google Sign-In access at any time via your Google Account security settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
